Everyday certain headlines pop out at me and I think the exact same thing, if only life wasn’t so cheap now. Of course there have been moments in human history where life was greatly cheapened. You need only visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. to be reminded of that. But “life” as a whole in American culture is now a simple matter of convenience or lack there of.
For instance, a woman received a hate letter recently concerning her autistic son that suggesting they “euthanize” him. And for what great offense? The letter claims the “retarded” child shouldn’t be allowed to play outside. ”That noise he makes when he is outside is DREADFUL!!!!!!!!!! It scares the hell out of my normal children!!!!!!!” So, let me see if I get this straight. The kid makes a noise you don’t like, so he should die? That’s how we think these days?
The psycho continues by stating, “What right do you have to do this to hard-working people!!!!!!!! I HATE people like you who believe, just because you have a special needs kid, you are entitled to special treatment!!! GOD!!!!!!
And they top it all off by claiming that the child and his family ”go live in a trailer in the woods or something with your wild animal kid!!!” And asks the family to do the right thing and move or “euthanize him. Either way, we are ALL better off,” reports Fox News.
